(Sermon Notes by John Mitchell)
"Is there anything too hard for God?" That could be a very insulting question if puny man were to ask that of a powerful God, and it could receive a very embarrassing answer. Now this question was not asked OF God. It was not asked ABOUT God. It was asked BY God!! In fact, God asked this question twice.
GENESIS 18 -God was talking to Abraham. God had promised Abraham a son even though Abraham’s wife, Sarah, was over ninety years of age. Well Sarah overheard God’s conversation with Abraham and she laughed out loud when she heard that God was going to give Abraham a son. Why, she was old enough to have great grandchildren, much less children herself. God took umbrage at what she said, and said to Abraham, VERSE 13-14.
JEREMIAH 32-God repeats the same question to Jeremiah in VERSE 27. Now Jeremiah already knew the answer. In fact, he had already given it-VERSE 17. If Jeremiah’s answer is not true, then God could not be God. You see, because God is God, He is OMINSCIENT - there is nothing He does not KNOW. If god is OMNIPRESENT - there is no place where HE does not exist. If God is God then HE must be OMNIPOTENT-that is, there is nothing HE can not do!! From those facts, I want to make 4 practical applications that I fee will give us confidence and comfort in these difficult days in which we live.

THERE IS NO PROMISE GOD CANNOT KEEP!!
VERSE 22-The word SWORE literally means “TO TAKE A SACRED OATH” It means to make a promise. It is estimated that there are 8,810 promises in the Bible; 7,487 of those are promises that God has made to man. I tell you that God HAS KEPT, IS KEEPING, OR WILL KEEP EVERY SINGLE ONE. Never in history can you find where a promise of God has ever been broken, never has been and never will be.
2 CORINTH. 1:20-In the old days a man’s word was his bond, and a man was no better than his word. Now what is true of man is infinitely true of God. God can be trusted because His word cannot be broken.
NUMBERS 23:19-We bettter be glad of that verse because the only hope you have of the KOG is the incontrovertible and incorruptible word of God.
TITUS 1:2-We are plainly told here that eternal life is a promise from God. I do not care how good you live, how much you pray, how hard you try. If God breaks His word, none of us will inherit the KOG. God is not depending on any of our works to enter His Kingdom, We are depending on His word that it WILL be there!! We have confidence based, not on our goodness, but His grace; not on our works, but His word; not on our conduct, but His character!! There are going to be times when you find yourself in the midst of life’s toughest storms. You are going to be drowning in a sea of trouble and the only thing you are going to have that will keep you afloat, are the promises of God!!!!!
I KINGS 8:56-King Solomon, whom scripture teaches was the wisest man who ever lived, after the dedication prayer for God’s Temple, then blessed the congregation.

THERE IS NO PRAYER THAT GOD CANNOT ANSWER!!
JEREMIAH 32:21-22-Have you ever considered why God bought the people of Israel out of bondage in Egypt? Did you know it was a direct answer to prayer!! Israel was a rag-tag bunch of beaten down slavers. They had no weapons, no leader, no resources, no money. They were under slavery to the most powerful nation on the earth. It would appear that the door had been locked and they key had been thrown away. But Israel had an “ace in the hole”, so to speak!!
EXODUS 2:23-25-Why did God raise up Moses? Why did God part the Red Sea? Why did God kill the Egyptians? Why did God deliver the people? It was because God answers prayer and God KEEPS His promises!!
JEREMIAH 33:3--JOHN 14:13--MATTHEW 21:22--Over and over and over and over we are told there is no prayer that God cannot answer!!
I JOHN 5:14-15--”Nothing lies beyond the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God!!!!!!!!! People say “but look at my circumstances, even prayer won’t do me any good now”. I tell you brethren that God is not limited by circumstances. Circumstances are limited by God!!
If you knew that within the next 3-4 weeks that Islam would take over the USA, that our government would topple, our economy would be completely wrecked in every area, and that real estate would be worthless. Nobody would buy and nobody could sell. Real estate agents would go from wheeling and dealing to rocking and reeling because they would know property would be absolutely worthless. Why buy property today that is going to be confiscated tomorrow? Yet, God told Jeremiah to go out and buy some property when they faced similar circumstances.
JEREMIAH 32: EXOUND THE PURCHASE OF LAND BY JEREMIAH!!
The reason Jeremiah did so was because of 2 words God said to him. Those words are ‘I WILL” 9 times, beginning in VERSE 37, God said, “I WILL”. Speaking to His people God said:-EXPOUND THE 9 TIMES OF “I WILL”!!
Remember, when you are going through dark days and nasty nights, you grab hold of the promises of God. You send up a prayer to God because there is no PROMISE God cannot keep. There is no PRAYER that God cannot answer!!

THERE IS NO PROBLEM THAT GOD CANNOT SOLVE!!
JEREMIAH 32:19-Here Jeremiah speaks of the OMNISCIENCE of God. God is not only ALL-ABLE, He is ALL-KNOWING!! When you link God’s Omniscience to His Omnipotence it stands to reason there is no problem that God cannot solve!! Let me make 2 statements about problems.
1st-Everybody has problems.
2nd-Everybody had problems that only God can solve.
Everyone has just one problem that only God can solve, and that is the problem of sin. Why does the alcoholic try to quit drinking, only to go right back to the bottle? Why does the drug addict try to quit, only to go back to the needle? Why does the homosexual try to go straight, only to go back to their abominable practices? Why does an adulterer try to be faithful, only to go back to his mistress? Because the only solution to sin is salvation in Jesus Christ!! God is the comforter to every hurt--the cure for every illness--and God is the solution to every problem!! Everyday people do things that show that they believe they have a problem that even God cannot solve. When 2 people get a divorce, you know what they are saying-”Even God can’t reconcile this marriage”. When a person commits suicide they are saying “Even God can not carry this burden”. When somebody steals they are saying “Even God cannot meet my need”. That is a lie straight from hell for there is NO problem that God cannot solve. You take any problem you want and bring God into it, and God can solve that problem!! God specializes in things thought impossible. He does the things others cannot do!!!!!!!!
-
THERE IS NO PERSON GOD CANNOT REDEEM!!
DANIEL 4:30-Remember Nebuchadnezzar-King of Babylon who took Israel captive? He was a Pagan, he was an Idolater. Worse than that-he worshipped himself!! God caused the king to lose his mid-eat grass and life outside. But then God restored him and gave him back his mind. God wanted to REALLY SHOW him who was King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This pagan king got the message. VERSE 37-These are his last recorded words.
Yea--well-- but that was a pagan God was teaching a lesson to.
ACTS 9-EXPOUND SAUL’S CONVERSION TO BECOME PAUL!!
Saul detested the very name of Jesus-He was in the business of persecuting the new Christians and shutting down their meeting places. He was in the business of blaspheming the very name of Jesus. If you had come to Saul and said “ Do you know for sure that if you were to die today you would be in the KOG, ruling with Christ forever?” He would have cursed you, beaten you, thrown you in jail, put a noose around your neck all the time thinking he was doing God a favor.
Then one hot day on the Damascus road, he met Jesus face to face. He was blinded by God, then Ananias laid hands on him as god instructed and in an instant the church’s greatest foe became it’s greatest friend, her greatest persecutor became her greatest preacher.
ROMANS 10:13-There is no person whom God cannot redeem. God will keep that promise to anyone when they are called!!!!!
OK-If God can do anything--why doesn’t He? When you look at the nation & the world, -you sometimes wonder why God doesn’t do something. Le me tell you two things that can short circuit and cut off the blessings of God.
PSALM 78:40-41-DISOBEDIENCE can limit the power of God. God will not fight through your disobedience to do what He wants to in your life or mine. Do you know how they tempted God? VERSE 56-EXPOUND-Turned their backs on God’s Law!!
MATTHEW 13:58-DISBELIEF can short-circuit the power of God.
We know this is not God’s world, we also know that soon Jesus Christ will return to this earth and establish the KOG. We also know that in order to inherit those promises we have to OBEY and BELIEVE!!!!!! And that we do!!!!!!
EPHESIANS 3:20-IS THERE ANYTHING TO HARD FOR GOD?--NO-- AND IF WE WILL OBEY AND BELIEVE, WE WILL FIND THAT GOD IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK!!
