We believe "all scripture (both the old and new testament) is breathed by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, (and) for instruction in righteousness" - 2 Timothy 3:16. We believe that specific laws within the "old" testament remain in effect today and were not nailed to the cross at the death of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul told Timothy, the set-apart scriptures were able to make him wise for deliverance through belief in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15). When the Apostle Paul wrote these words to Timothy, the "New Testament" was nonexistent. Paul was referring to the "old" testament law. For example....
The NT Apostles and the early Christians Observed the Seventh Day Sabbath------> IRENAEUS, the disciple of Polycarp, the disciple of the Apostle John wrote the following in his document titled; Against Heresies, BOOK 5, chapter XXXIII, verse 2, concerning the reward of the righteous: "These are to take place in times of the kingdom, that is, upon the seventh day, which has been sanctified, in which God rested from all the works which He created, which is the true Sabbath of the righteous, which they shall not be engaged in any earthly occupation; but shall have a table at hand prepared for them by God,..."
